James A. Blackwell, Jr. (Micky) (Director) is President of JAB Consultants in Marietta, a management and leadership consulting firm. He is Chairman of ScanTech, a firm engaged in homeland security. In 2000, he retired from Lockheed Martin Corporation as Executive Vice President for the aeronautical systems sector. He holds a B.S. degree from the University of Alabama and an M.S. from the University of Virginia, both in Aerospace Engineering. He attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University and holds an Honorary Doctor of Laws from Mercer University. He resides in Marietta.
Micky is Chair of the Governor’s task force to save Georgia’s military bases. He serves on the Marietta Redevelopment Corporation which has been chartered to revitalize Marietta. As the head of Lockheed Martin Aeronautical, he employed 36,000 people to build the systems that protect American soil.
Dan E. Burge (Director) is the owner of Burge Realty, LLC in Marietta. Mr. Burge holds a Real Estate Brokers license and has been involved in the real estate and real estate development business most of his adult life. He attended Southern Polytechnic Institute. He resides in Marietta.
Dan has improved our quality of life by developing commercial sites that house the businesses where we work and shop. Mr. Burge served on the Southern Polytechnic Institute's Foundation Board and twice served as the President of the Marietta Country Club.
Claud E. Clark (Buck) (Director) is a member of Ovation Investment Partnership, LLC, and a real estate firm in Marietta. Mr. Clark is also an active real estate investor. He holds a B.S. degree from North Carolina State University. He has spent most of his life in Cobb County and currently resides in Marietta.
Buck invests considerable time and resources in an effort to regenerate inner-city neighborhoods.
Thomas D. Daniel (Director) is a principal in Triad Properties Corporation in Alpharetta, and he resides in Alpharetta as well. Mr. Daniel was employed by Trammel Crow Company from 1984 to 1998, where he became Managing Director. He holds a B.I.E. degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Daniel holds a real estate brokerage license and the CCIM designation in commercial and investment real estate.
Tom was the Co-Chairman of the fund raising committee to build the Ed Isakson Family Alpharetta YMCA, where he served as its first Chairman of the Board. His company developed The Proscenium at Peachtree and 14th in Midtown and McGinnis Park among others. He is an active member of the Alpharetta First United Methodist Church. He also serves on the Administrative Board of the Industrial Engineering School of the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Robert E. Garrison (Director) is an Attorney with 35 years experience in the North Metro area. His offices are located in Cherokee and Paulding Counties. For the initial 20 years of his career, Bob was active in a general litigation practice and over the last 15 years has focused his practice in the field of Real Estate Investment and Real Estate Law. He holds an ABJ degree from the University of Georgia and a JD degree from Woodrow Wilson College of Law. During his years of practice, he has been actively involved in the community. Bob represents many banks and other financial institutions, as well as builders and developers. He has also taught classes for the American Institute of Banking. Through his involvement in the real estate industry, Bob has utilized his expertise in guiding thousands of families in realizing their goal of home ownership.
William J. Lohmeyer, III (Director), President and acting CEO, most recently served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Builders Insurance Group and resides in Cobb County. Bill holds a B.S. in Economics and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter. Bill has served as a director of several private companies and for one New York Stock Exchange listed public company. He is a member of the Board of the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Barry E. Mansell (Director) is on the Board of Directors of The Erosion Company, a successor company through merger to Georgia Erosion Control Center, a company he co-founded and for which served as Chief Operating Officer. From 1969 to 1997, he was employed by a BellSouth subsidiary where he was promoted to the position of Vice President of human resources. Mr. Mansell holds a B.B.A. in accounting from the University of Georgia and an M.B.A. from Georgia State University. Currently, he is on the board of directors of the Ed Isakson Alpharetta Family YMCA, a former senior warden for St. Aidan's Episcopal Church in Alpharetta, and serves on the board of directors of the Cherokee County Sewer and Water Authority.
Jack V. Miller (Director) is the president of Miller Construction, Kennesaw, Georgia. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Erosion and Sediment Overview Council for the State of Georgia, a position appointed by Governor Barnes and reappointed by Governor Perdue in 2004. A real estate investor and developer, he holds a B.I.E. degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a resident of Kennesaw.
Jack builds live, work and play communities throughout Cobb and surrounding counties. In his position with the State’s Erosion and Sediment Overview Council, he has protected our State’s natural resources. Jack has been a member of the Powder Springs Downtown Development Authority since 1996, is a member of the Tommy Nobis Foundation Board and chairs the Towns County Conservation Board.
Dennis C. Murray (Director) is the Vice President of business development of Outpatient Infusion Systems located in Alpharetta. Formerly Mr. Murray worked at Kaiser Permanente in Atlanta as Manager of healthcare operations and Medical Center Administrator. He also worked at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta as a director of clinic operations. Prior to moving to Atlanta Mr. Murray worked at Miami Children's Hospital as the administrative director of ambulatory services. He holds a B.A. from Barry University in Miami, FL and an MBA from the University of Miami (FL).
Mr. Murray serves on the board of directors of the Ed Isakson Alpharetta Family YMCA and is the chairman of the Fundraising Committee for 2005-2006. He is a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church where he serves as a commissioner on the Liturgical Commission.
J. K. Patel (Director) is Chief Executive Officer of North Point Hospitality Group, Inc., which owns and operates five hotels and has two additional hotels under development. He has served on various boards of local banks, including Wachovia Bank and Regions Bank, which had acquired Citizens Bank & Trust, where he had been an Organizer and Director. In 1996, he was honored to serve as chairman of the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA), an organization that currently has over 8,000 members. He holds a diploma in banking from The Institute of Bankers, London and was a commercial lender with Barclays Bank before immigrating to the United States.
J. K.’s company has built six Alpharetta hotels, including the landmark Embassy Suites, and currently owns and operates two Hampton Inns and a DoubleTree Hotel in the city. Mr. Patel and his family immigrated to the United States in 1978.
D. Michael Sleeth is the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Alpha Bank and Trust. He is a Certified Public Accountant with over 30 years of banking experience in both large financial institutions as well as community banks. He has held Controller or Chief Financial Officer positions in five of these institutions. Most recently he was the Executive Vice President/CFO of BancMortgage, a division of SunTrust Bank, where his responsibilities included all Accounting and Financial Reporting, Information Technology, Loan Servicing and Loan Post Closing. He received his BBA degree in accounting from the University of Georgia and his MBA in accounting from Georgia State University. Mike and his family currently reside in Alpharetta.
Mike is a past president of the Alpharetta Rotary Club. He was an original member of the management team for a de novo financial institution, Mt. Vernon Federal Savings Bank, which was located in Dunwoody, Ga.
R. E. (Rob) Skeen, III is our Chief Lending Officer and Executive Vice President. Prior to joining Alpha Bank & Trust, Rob was Chief Lending Officer for Integrity Bank. He previously held positions with Colonial Bank and Gainesville Bank & Trust in increasing positions of responsibility while serving clients in various areas of lending.
Rob earned a B.S.B.A. and an M.B.A. from Auburn University at Montgomery and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.
